While in 2015 a large portion of welding gun production was comprised of manual welding guns, the proportion of locally manufactured robot welding guns increased massively in 2016. The major portion of that was taken by the MG gun, specially developed for the Asian market, which adopted many of the features of the NIMAK multiframeGUN.
This year, the robot welding guns manufactured by NIMAK China has made the final breakthrough - by the end of the year it will certainly amount to more than 3,500 welding guns that will leave the production shops in Langfang City.
Following 10 years on the market, not only are the local vehicle manufacturers convinced of the advantages of the NIMAK design and the product quality but on top of that also the Volkswagen joint venture in Changchun.
It is fortuitous that NIMAK China was able to successfully conclude the qualification process for the construction of VW robot welding guns that was started in the summer of 2016 and has now officially obtained the release as the gun builder for local volumes in China for VW and Audi.
The signs of the time were recognized on time at NIMAK China and the necessary capacities were successively increased and the required infrastructure for gun assembly, measuring and testing were created.
